Saving, maps, and fancy orb particles
Wow, what a difference a day can make!
I've implemented a start menu with save and continue. Right now I'm just saving on every level up, but that will be expanded. I implemented object collection, so when you collect the orb and continue, the orb stays gone. Big deal, right? Basic platformer expectations, but it's still good progress.
I have also completely re-vamped how the game works. It looks the same, but under the hood, I have implemented a map system and room loader. You can press SELECT or "M" to open the map and see. It's only 3 cells at the moment for testing, but my ideas are really starting to take shape on how the game world is going to be laid out.
I need to do some real whiteboarding out of the abilities and progress, so the next update will probably be a few days out but also see a significant amount of progression added to the game. I'd also like to get the first enemy created so I can get the hitbox mechanics started.
Oh, and I got my fancy particles mostly working for the orb collection. Still needs some tweaking but the core mechanics are working.
